A community of medical professionals of African descent in pursuit of professional advancement in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia. A collective, where those who are ahead on the curve of professional development are committed to creating opportunities for those coming behind to succeed..
Our focus is mentoring, career development, and networking. We aspire to fulfill this mission by supporting a community of learned professionals as they pursue various life goals and navigate the usual challenges of life in a new country.
The name KAINJI was inspired by the reservoir and dam - Kainji Lake and Kainji Dam, located in Northwestern Nigeria. The dam has a power generating capacity enough to supply a significant portion of the Nigerian population. It is our belief that like Lake Kainji, we can empower those in the early and critical stages of their careers to fulfill their life dreams.
Being a part of KAINJI has helped me become profoundly more confident in my US postgraduate training goals. Our weekly networking meetings and ERAS prep sessions continue to be a bank of practical, invaluable, and contextually relevant information that one will be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Through KAINJI, I have been able to connect with people ahead of me that are in positions I aspire to attain. I have also received immense help in procuring exam preparatory materials. KAINJI to me is a dream come true.
KAINJI is a one in a million platform where you see a Nigerian working selflessly towards the progress of other Nigerians, without a catch or hidden agenda. KAINJI leadership has created a platform that has defied the norm by providing a welcoming ambience to all in need.
KAINJI is definitely the go-to place to prepare for your interview. I learned a lot from all the discussions and I would say it helped me perfect my interview skills and get a prematch. The organizers are simply selfless and are doing a great job.
